UC Davis color genetics test results.
|
Interpretation of the above test
results:
|
ee = chestnut based
Aa = one agouti (bay)
gene
Cr (or CrCr) = homozygous
for cream
Paul is cremello, a chestnut
with two copies of the cream gene. He also has one agouti
gene, so if bred to black or smoky black mares, he can
produce buckskins and perlinos.
|
|
Below is a general listing
of the possible foal
color results from various colors of mares
when bred to Paul.
These results are NOT
listed in order of likelihood.
|
These possible foal color results,
as well as which colors
are most likely, are dependent upon the individual
mare's comprehensive genetic color . . . meaning
whether or not the mare is heterozygous or
homozygous for particular color genes herself.
If you have questions regarding
the most likely possible
foal color results, in relation to a specific mare,
please email
us your question with the mare's full name and
the full names of her sire and dam, and we will do
our best
to answer your questions as accurately as possible.
